Donna Hicks in Leading with Dignity


Leaders set the tone in organizations. They have the power to affect how people feel on a moment-by-moment basis. Whether they are aware of it or not, employees scrutinize every move they make, taking cues from them to determine what is a cceptable and unacceptable in the way they interact at work. Yet in interviewing leaders, I have found that they are often unaware of the extent to which their actions and behaviors set the norms for the work environment.
